KNX Basic Certification Course
KNX is an international building control standard that is used to put the intelligence into intelligent buildings. It enables the integration and programming of a range of products from a range of manufacturers using a single software tool. KNX products are all thoroughly tested for compliance ensuring they operate seamlessly together on a single, simple network.

There are over 500 manufacturers, 70529 partners, 126 scientific partners as well as user clubs, national groups and test labs over some 160 countries, that is why KNX is becoming the automation technology of choice.
Objective
During the training, you will apply your new-found knowledge in exercises and thereby improve your learning results. The course then ends with the theoretical and practical KNX exam. On passing this exam, you receive the official KNX certificate and can then conclude the KNX Partner contract with the KNX Association.
Course Details
The KNX Basic Certification course covers how to design the KNX topology, how to use ETS to program KNX using lighting and shading examples and how to run diagnostics with ETS. The course contains a Theory and a Practical exam which will test the following subjects.
Theory:
Introduction to the concept of the KNX Bus
System arguments
Technical system overview (Communication)
Principles of KNX devices design
Installation guidelines
Network structure (Topology)
Media (Twisted pair and Wireless)
Protocol structures (Telegram)
Practical Lessons:
Working with the universal KNX Engineering Tool ETS (always latest version)
Realisation of technical building functions such as
Switching and dimming lighting
sunshade control
central functions
Basics of individual room control: heating and cooling
Simple logic and displays
Implementation of cross-network functions (working with couplers)
Exam Theory (Online): 1:30 h
Exam Practical: 1:30 h
Learning Outcome
Participants will gain basic understanding and skills to work on KNX based equipment and become a basic level accredited KNX building automation technician.
