Do I have to use one brand?
No. KNX is an open standard, so a project can combine compatible products from different manufacturers and select each for its function, finish and fit.
Does KNX need the internet?
Core local functions can continue without an internet connection. Remote access and selected app services may use the home network or cloud, depending on the design.
Can cameras appear in the same app?
Compatible IP camera views can be integrated into the chosen visualisation or touch panel. KNX coordinates the home, but it does not carry the video itself.
Can I add to it later?
Yes. A KNX system can be reprogrammed and extended as needs change, provided the original design leaves sensible capacity and access.
