- Working with the KNX Engineering Tool ETS (latest version)
- Switching and dimming lighting

Course structure
The course contains a Theory and a Practical exam covering:
- KNX Project Design ETS Professional: Basic
- KNX Project Design ETS Professional: Advanced (informative only)
- KNX Commissioning ETS
- KNX Diagnostics & troubleshooting in ETS
- KNX system arguments and system overview
- KNX TP topology, telegram and bus devices
- KNX TP installation, Powerline and RF
Exams
- Theory exam (online): 1 hour 30 minutes
- Practical exam: 1 hour 30 minutes
Learning outcome
Participants gain a solid, practical foundation in KNX and the skills to work confidently on KNX-based equipment, achieving basic-level accreditation as a KNX building automation technician.
On passing both exams, participants receive the official KNX certificate and can enter a KNX Partner contract with the KNX Association — recognised internationally and a foundation for taking on KNX system design, commissioning and diagnostics work.
Your trainer
Craig Ross
Craig Ross has spent the past 16 years working in the KNX technology field, an open protocol that lets a wide range of independent products and technologies be managed through one system.
Initially developed in Europe, KNX has expanded rapidly into the Australian market, and Craig was among the early adopters as home automation moved away from proprietary protocols with limited compatibility.
Craig works closely with product suppliers and also provides design, consulting and programming support to electrical contractors on their own customers' projects, bringing that experience directly into this course.
